A bad day or mood can quickly be erased by observing sproutlings push through the mud, making friends with a garden snail, and picking a sun-ripened strawberry.
Hi, I’m Liz, and I’m a proud mom to two muddy girls K and Z. I’ve spent the last decade-plus in marketing and communications and left the traditional workforce in December 2020 to focus full-time on raising my kiddos and make up for lost time as I get messy right alongside them. Read my Muddy Mama origin story if you’d like to learn more.
You can usually find us outside bringing plant babies to life in our muddy garden, exploring Orange County’s parks and trails, and hosting tea parties in our treehouse. Our happiest days are those where we go to sleep with dirt between our toes. This blog will focus on our muddy adventures and share tips and ideas with other moms, dads, and kiddos who want to connect with their kids outside.
Please know that while I often focus on the beautiful scenes in our lives, there’s plenty of mess. Behind every beautiful photo, there’s a basket of laundry that’s been waiting three days to be folded, a kid having an ear-splitting meltdown, and a mom who has yelled more than she wanted to in the day. I see you mamas; I’m here for you; this shit is hard.
I like making friends. Send me a note at motherhood in the mud at gmail.com or follow our adventures on Instagram @motherhoodinthemud.
See you in the garden!
Liz
